West Edmonton Mall is famed for being the largest shopping and entertainment center in the world, and is without doubt Alberta's biggest tourist attraction. Covering an impressive 5.3 million square feet, West Edmonton Mall was constructed in four stages between 1981 and 1999.
Situated west of central Edmonton, West Edmonton Mall contains over 800 stores and over 110 eating establishments. Visitors to West Edmonton Mall will find all of the high street brands along with a large number of other retail outlets, including Benetton, Gymboree, Guess, Red's, Banana Republic and Mexx. Whether visitors intend to shop or just browse they are guaranteed to find what they are looking for somewhere in this one-mile long shopping paradise.
West Edmonton Mall is also home to a large number of attractions, including Galaxyland, World Waterpark, The Ice Palace, Professor Wem's Adventure Golf, Deep Sea Adventure, Dolphin Lagoon & Sea Life Caverns and The Rock n' Ride Dance Party.
